David Kerr:           The Pope and the Politicians: What Benedict XVI has to Say on Faith and Freedom

David Kerr is a Rome-based writer and broadcaster covering the Vatican. Previously he worked for twelve years at the BBC where he was both Editor of Newsnight Scotland and Assistant Editor of Newsnight. He worked on the media team for Pope Benedict's visit to Great Britain in 2010.


   Andrew Hegarty:   'Public Reason' and the Inhibiting of Political Activity by Christians in Today's Liberal Democracies

Andrew Hegarty is an independent historian specialising in the history of universities, and Director of the Thomas More Institute.


At the end of the morning David Kirk, FCA, Trustee and Treasurer of the Thomas More Legal Centre, outlined briefly for participants the work of the Centre.
